Pessary Fitting
What is a pessary?
A pessary is a removeable medical device that acts like a scaffold within your vagina – if you are experiencing prolapse it helps hold up your pelvic organs. By providing this support, your prolapse symptoms can be reduced or even eliminated completely.
There are different types of pessaries, mostly made from silicone. They come in different sizes and shapes as every woman is unique.
Some women leave the pessary in place all the time while others only place the pessary in when they are doing activities such as during sports or gardening.
Our Women’s Health Physiotherapist, Kat Rogers, will answer all your questions and complete a thorough screening before fitting your pessary.
